2007 College Cup Set...
Sorry for the silence here at FCTP after the big weekend. Sometimes life moves too fast to post. Now it is Wednesday, I am in South Florida on business, and here were are.
The final four: Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Ohio State & UMass. Yes, UMass is amongst three ranked teams in the NCAA soccer finals. The semi-final kicks off this Friday and concludes on Sunday.
The big match of the weekend will be #11 Virginia Tech and #2 Wake Forest. Back in October the two met in Blacksburg, VA and tied in a double overtime, six goal thriller. Word out of Blacksburg is that Junior forward Patrick Nyarko is playing in his last college season before leaving for the pros. This great VT run is in large part thanks for Nyarko, but remember it is a team sport. Wake has quite a few players who will feature in the upcoming MLS combine.
On the other side of the bracket you have to assume #5 Ohio State will be able to defeat UMass. Then again, #1 Boston College thought they'd have an easy road to the third round while UMass had a different idea.
The final will be televised on ESPN2, live at 3 pm est. Enjoy catching some future pros before they're in the big time.

Sorry, I don't know. However, it is ESPN so you could see their typical set up.
