2008 MLS Combine To Add Between 8-12 More Players...

Before the January event MLS will announce between 8-12 more players who will attend the annual player combine. Those players will be split between Generation Adidas, Division II, Division III and NAIA according to a source inside MLS who wishes to remain anonymous.

One of the players to be added is reportedly the young HaitianRicardo Pierre-Louis. In 17 matches for Lee University this season Pierre-Louis scored 29 goals and had 11 assists. Over the summer the forward scored 6 goals for the PDL's Cape Cod Crusaders. He is also part of the Haitian national team set up along with former MLS players Jean Philippe Peguero and Fabrice Nöel.

  • What do you think of Scott Campbell, an attacking mid fielder with the UNC Tarheels? Do you think he will be invited to the MLS combine?

  • Ricardo Pierre-Louis is a great soccer player, very experienced. he played several games with the haitian national team ( he was in the gold cup this summer), that is very smart from MLS.

  • What about Dwight Barnett from Lynn University who Ricardo played up top with for Cape Cod Crusaders in the PDL. This kid is the truth, he's been proving himself from JuCo to PDL to D2 and i know for a fact that he's one of the few guys from D2 being considered for the last 8-12 spots of the MLS combines.

  • Scott Campbell is a Junior and will have to be offered and sign a Generation Adidas contract with the league in order to play at the combine. 3rd Degree has Campbell on the GA list as someone who could be talking to the league but it remains to be seen.
